It hasn't been the best start for San Francisco's Tim Lincecum. The Giants' starter, through just three innings, has surrendered eight hits and five runs (two earned runs). Playing in front of their home crowd, the Washington Nationals have capitalized as a result and lead 5-0 early.
The Nats tacked on runs in the bottom of the second inning (two) and in the third (three). Shortstop Ian Desmond capped off the scoring two a two-run homer to deep left.
Jordan Zimmermann took the mound for Washington, and thus far, has made quick work of the Giants. Through three innings, the right-hander has tossed a total of 42 pitches, striking out three batters and giving up just two hits and no runs.
