Giants Vs. Nationals: Washington Looking To Win Again In Holiday Matinee

The Washington Nationals continue their series against the visiting San Francisco Giants with an Independence Day matinee at Nationals Park. Washington outlasted the rain in a 9-3 win in Monday's series opener. Rain chances linger in Wednesday's forecast, but the Nationals have a sunny outlook after starting the month of July on a win streak.

Edwin Jackson gets the ball for Washington, hoping for better results after giving up eight earned runs to Colorado in his last start, which lasted just three innings. Prior to that outing, Jackson had not allowed more than three runs since May 23.

The Giants roll out their ace, one of their aces, to face the Nationals on Wednesday morning. Madison Bumgarner pitched a complete game shutout against Cincinnati in his last start, a one-hitter no less. The 22-year-old lefty picked up wins in five of his last six starts.

The game starts at 11:05 a.m. It will be broadcast on MASN HD as well as the MLB Network.
