Giants Vs. Nationals Update: Edwin Jackson Struggling Early

Washington Nationals pitcher Edwin Jackson was abused by the Colorado for eight runs in his last start. The struggles continued in the first inning of Washington's matinee with the San Francisco Giants.

Jackson walked the leadoff man, who made it third when Melky Cabrera singled later in the inning. With one out and runners on first and third, Buster Posey grounded out, but it was enough for Gregor Blanco to score from third base. Pablo Sandoval, the very next hitter, put one over the fence in center to make it a 3-0 game. Jackson struck out the next hitter to send the game into the bottom of the first.

Giants starter Madison Bumgarner hit Danny Espinosa to lead off the bottom of the first. Bryce Harper, the next batter, struck out swinging. Ryan Zimmerman lined out to the pitcher, and Michael Morse hit a fly ball to center to end the inning.
