The final spot for the National League All-Star team is still ongoing, and with the Atlanta Braves Chipper Jones being selected as an injury replacement that gives the National League a new leader in the fan vote. St. Louis Cardinals third baseman David Freese has taken over the top spot with Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper moving up from third to second place.
The rest of the latest order has Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill in third and Atlanta Braves outfielder Michael Bourn in the final fourth spot.
The Nationals public relations staff has been encouraging fans to vote for Harper, and with Jones out of pitcher since he is now on the team it gives Harper a better chance to earn that final roster spot.
Voting continues through July 5.
