MLB Futures Game 2012: World Team Gets Dominated By U.S. Team, 17-5

The 2012 MLB Futures Game was a run-fest of sorts as there were 22 total runs in the contest, 17 of those came from the U.S. squad who thoroughly dominated the World team on Saturday afternoon at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.

The U.S. squad cranked out 17 hits and scored as many runs as they thoroughly outplayed their World counterparts.

Nick Castellanos, a star infield prospect for the Detroit Tigers, was named MVP of the game as he contributed three runs in a nine-run sixth inning that essentially put the game out of reach for the World team.

Even more impressive for the U.S. team, at least 13 players registered at least one run, RBI or both in the ball game.
