Nationals Vs. Phillies Preview: Washington Hopes For A Rebound Against Philadelphia

The Washington Nationals dropped the first game of a three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday, 8-0. This was after the Phillies had traded away outfielders Hunter Pence and Shane Victorino. Not having third baseman Ryan Zimmerman and first baseman Adam LaRoche in the game yesterday didn't help things.

The Nationals hope to rebound on Wednesday night as pitcher Edwin Jackson (6-6, 3.52 ERA) will take the hill. In his last start against the Milwaukee Brewers on July 26, Jackson pitched seven shut-out innings, scattering eight hits in the win.

The Nationals will go against Phillies pitcher Vance Worley (5-6, 3.88). In his last start, also against the Milwaukee Brewers, on July 25, he went five and one-thirds innings, allowing three runs on 10 hits and earned a no decision, as the Phillies won the game.

The game is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch from Nationals Park. Television coverage will be provided by MASN. Radio coverage will be provided by 106.7 The Fan FM, 1500 WFED AM and 1580 WHFS AM.
