The Washington Nationals 2013 regular season schedule was released on Wednesday afternoon and the club will be starting the year against the Miami Marlins. Opening day will occur on Monday, April 1, with the Nationals hosting the Marlins in a three-game set.
With the Houston Astros moving to the American League next season, interleague games will occur each day of the major league schedule. The Nationals will face their first AL opponent on April 9, when they host the Chicago White Sox. The schedule also includes the annual Beltways battle with the Baltimore Orioles, with two games being played in Washington (May 27-28) followed by two games in Baltimore (May 29-30).
Eight of Washington's final 10 series come against National League East opponents. The club will conclude the year in Arizona against the Diamondbacks.
