Half Smokes Highlights: Hunter Smith Hated The Cowboys Before He Was A Redskin

Now that Hunter Smith has re-claimed his spot at punter with the Redskins, he'll get the opportunity to face his former team, the Colts, on Sunday night. Smith won't be playing in front of his old fans like Donovan McNabb did this week, but I'm sure jaded Colts fans will be at FedEx Field en masse wearing their horribly altered Hunter Smith jerseys

Aside from those select few bitter fans, he'll enjoy the appreciation and support of Redskins fans tomorrow night. Last season, he made a name for himself when he threw and ran for a touchdown last season and earned a bronze star for his displaying outstanding courage during Operation Swinging Gate. In one year, Hunter Smith created a legacy that no other punter in Redskins' history can match, unless you count Sammy Baugh.

But even if Hunter Smith never took a snap with the Redskins, he still deserves your respect because he eternally shamed Deion Sanders while he was a member of the Cowboys.

I remain convinced if YouTube had existed in 2000 the Redskins never would have signed Sanders to that $56 million contract. Maybe $50 million, but definitely not $56 million.
