The Redskins' defense is currently ranked 32nd in the league. They'll try to change that today by making a change in their starting lineup.
Andre Carter, a right defensive end for most of his career, had started at left outside linebacker the first three games of the season. According to Rich Campbell, he will be replaced in the starting lineup today by Lorenzo Alexander, a more versatile player. The change could have something to do with Alexander's ability to stop the run. He is a quicker player, which will come in handy against Michael Vick.
Carter is likely to still see plenty of time rushing the quarterback on passing downs.
The Redskins have also made a change to their offensive line. Kory Lichtensteiger had been splitting time with Derrick Dockery at left guard for much of the season, but Lichtensteiger has supplanted Dockery on the depth chart, and he will get the start for the second week in a row.
