There were many great moments from yesterday's Redskins win over the Eagles, but few compared to the huge hit Lorenzo Alexander laid here on special teams. It came right after Ryan Torain ran over the Eagles' defense for a touchdown on the game's opening drive, and it strongly asserted which team was boss. Here's video.

When asked about the hit today, coach Mike Shanahan didn't exactly hold back. Via Matt Terl of Redskins Blog.
↵↵↵↵↵"He seems to do this each week," Shanahan said, "regardless if they double-team him or not. But that was one of the best hits I've been around since I've been in the NFL. I mean, that was an explosion on the sidelines. So that was very, very special."

For his part, Alexander said "when you hit somebody that hard, you don't even feel it." Maybe that means we'll see this image return to the D.C. sports scene.
