Trent Williams, Mike Shanahan Expect Redskins Tackle To Play Against Packers

When the Washington Redskins offense takes the field on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, Trent Williams should be back at left tackle, according to the latest out of Redskins Park.

Williams, the team's first-round selection in the 2010 NFL Draft, hasn't played since injuring his knee and toe during the final drive of the loss to Houston in Week 2. But he returned to full practice this week, and after Friday's session the rookie told reporters again that he expects to play.

More comforting for Redskins fans and quarterback Donovan McNabb, though, was hearing the same thing from Coach Mike Shanahan.

Should Williams return to the starting lineup, it's expected Stephon Heyer would head back to the bench. The former Maryland lineman started in place of Williams in Weeks 3 and 4, but backed up split time with Jammal Brown at right tackle during Weeks 1 and 2.
