A Snarly Clinton Portis Emerges In A Nationals Hat

Knowing everything we know about Clinton Portis -- he's outspoken, isn't afraid to ruffle some feathers and is very sensitive about what people say about him -- it shouldn't surprise anyone that he wasn't exactly too thrilled about the reception he got for wearing a Philadelphia Phillies cap to practice on Thursday. Portis quoted Kanye West's 'Runaway': "I want to give a toast to the douche bags. A toast to the a-holes," on people mad about Phillies hat.less than a minute ago via web

Classic Portis. When pressed on the matter, he had this to say, via Redskins Blog:

↵↵"Man, you think I woke up, like, 'Ooooo! I can't put on this hat, we're playing the....'" He shook his head. "It says Phillies, not Eagles. You won't ever see me with green on."

Excellent. Anyway, in response to all that feedback, Portis wore a Nationals cap today for his interview session. He said the team sent him one, which was so very, very nice of them. Now this can be over and done with. In fact, the real winners here are the Nationals, who found a way to cleverly market their team in front of many more eyeballs than they will ever get.
