Philadelphia Eagles Accuse LaRon Landry Of Being A Dirty Player

Thus far this season, LaRon Landry has been the Redskins' lovable hothead safety that just so happened to be jacking everyone up this year. We forgive his excessive celebrations after first downs because he brought it. But eventually, that run of good feeling can come to an end, and it looks like we've reached that point.

On the very first play of the game, DeSean Jackson zipped right by Landry for an 88-yard touchdown, commencing the blowout. Then, the Eagles decided to do what Landry does to so many people: kick the man while he's down. After the game, many claimed that he was a dirty player that spits in people's faces.

First things first: the Eagles claim that Landry taunted Jackson before the game by saying "night night" and "go to sleep" a reference to Jackson's concussion earlier in the season. Naturally, this did not amuse the Eagles. Quintin Mikell simply said "maybe he should have been more ready to play ball than talking." Jackson, meanwhile, said the pregame skirmish got the Eagles ready and made them like "like pit bulls ready to get out of a cage." The irony of his statement was obviously lost.

But that's not all. After the game, Eagles center Mike McGlynn said that Landry spit on him twice. Via SB Nation's Eagles blog Bleeding Green Nation.

"He got his," McGlynn said. "We got after him pretty good. The things that he did during the game, spitting on me twice ... I don't have no respect for that. There's no place for that in our game."

For his part, Landry denied the allegations. Here's what he posted on his Twitter account.

To everyone who's truly redskin fan/fan of mine... Knows I never been a dirty player/never will!!! Supposedly I spit on the center if there's any truth to that I would have been flagged or the guy would have some sort of reaction!!! I just play hard and do anything to help the team win... As for as D. Jack that's my guy been home boys for awhile so to y'all who wanna read blogs/the Internet find out the truth to stories/not a writer trying to stir confusion!!! Tough lost as a hold... Still have a lot of fball left... Hail to the skins!!! Good morning!!!

But considering Landry's history of being a bit of a hothead, it's tough to believe him. He probably did spit on the Eagles players, and he probably did make fun of Jackson's concussion. Usually, we cheer Landry's bravado, but clearly, he barked up the wrong tree this time.
