On The Psyche Of Washington Redskins Fans

The Redskins' blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles happened three days ago, and we're still trying to figure out how to respond as Redskins fans. Many of our feelings were summed up by this epic rant by Chad Dukes of 106.7 The Fan. In case you missed it, click here for the audio.

But Dukes' rant, as passionate and awesome as it was, offered little to really answer the question about the collective psyche of Redskins fans. Thankfully, Mike Tunison of SBNation.com came through to answer that one in his column today.

↵↵While most Redskins fans over the years slowly made themselves immune to the hype surrounding the annual acquisition of some high-priced, over-the-hill free agent, there's still always been the sense within the fan base that things were going to work out at some point. For all his personal failings, Dan Snyder cares passionately about winning and is willing to spend exorbitantly to do it, which is more than you can say for the Mike Browns of the world. Eventually, you would think, even a misguided person with that kind of resources who strike paydirt at some point. However, as time goes on, it seems more and more likely that it might not ever work out for Snyder.

The whole thing is a good read, and you should check it out. As depressing as it is to look at the Oakland Raiders for inspiration, maybe that's all we as Redskins fans can do.
