Washington Redskins Injuries: Carlos Rogers, LaRon Landry Both Ruled Out

For all the specifics Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan didn't provide to reporters on Thursday regarding the injuries and status of two of his top defensive backs, cornerback Carlos Rogers and safety LaRon Landry, the coach was pretty straightforward on Friday, according to Ryan O'Halloran of CSN-Washington:

There's a little more context to add to that. Shanahan hasn't ruled out Landry returning at some point this season, which is why the Redskins haven't placed him on the injured reserved list. Once the team leader in tackles and having his best season as a pro, Landry suffered an achilles injury in the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10 and hasn't played since.

The New York Giants come in to Sunday's game at the New Meadowlands Stadium with the ninth-ranked passing attack in the NFL, averaging 249 yards a game. Meanwhile, if you're a Redskins fan looking for good news, you can find it in the Giants' injury report, as New York will still be missing wide receiver Hakeem Nicks. The Giants could also be without wideout Steve Smith.
