Technically, the Washington Redskins are still alive in the race for the playoffs. Well, technically. In this week's episode of "SB Nation Radio" on 106.7 The Fan, Scott Jackson and Mike Prada shoot down the idea of the Redskins actually making the playoffs. In fact, as we both discuss, there might be a better chance of the wheels coming off, especially with a trip to New York to face the Giants on the horizon.
In the first segment, Scott and Mike discuss the Redskins' inability to run the football and debate whether the Redskins should bring Clinton Portis back next year, with a massive pay cut of course. Scott won that one. Scott also argues that the 2005 and 2007 playoff runs were bad for the Redskins. He lost that one. We also discuss Adam Dunn signing with the Chicago White Sox and why the Nationals made a mistake letting him go without getting anything in return other than a couple draft picks.
In the second segment, Scott and Mike talk to Rich Chvotkin, the radio voice of the Georgetown Hoyas for ESPN 980, about the Hoyas' fast start. Have the Hoyas changed to a more up-tempo style for good? Can Austin Freeman and Jason Clark keep up their hot play?
In the third segment, Scott and Mike talk to CSN Washington's Corey Masisak about the Capitals' big move to acquire Scott Hannan from the Colorado Avalanche. Hear why Corey thinks Hannan is a perfect fit and why this in-season trade is different than the other in-season trades the team has made over the years.
Finally, Scott and Mike go behind enemy lines with Ed Valentine, the editor of SB Nation New York and SB Nation's Giants blog Big Blue View. Listen to Mike prattle on about his 99 cent Devin Thomas mini-fathead purchase, and some actual analysis of the Giants from Ed.
