The Redskins look like they will sorely miss their missing defensive stars, as the Giants have scored on their opening possession, giving the G-Men the quick 7-0 on an 8 yard Brandon Jacobs touchdown run.
The key play in the Giants 7 play, 59 yard drive was a 37 yard run by Brandon Jacobs, his longest of the season. On that run, several Redskins (namely Rocky McIntosh) were guilty of missed tackles, that led to Jacobs having a massive opening on the left side, which he exploited. After gaining another first down, the Giants were able to cash in with a 8 yard TD from Jacobs. A hole quickly developed as he ran up the middle for the score. It was their first touchdown on an opening possession all year.
If the Redskins are to be able to compete in this game, they must be able to get pressure on Eli Manning, despite the loss of Albert Haynesworth, Laron Landry, and Carlos Rogers. It is their only chance to keep this a lower scoring affair.
