Jim Zorn Could Be The Browns' New Offensive Coordinator

New, 1 comment

In further proof that it doesn't take much to move up the coaching tree, Jim Zorn may be a hot commodity again. It seemed impossible after his horrendous flameout as the Redskins' head coach, but it's true. Zorn is apparently in line to be the Browns' new offensive coordinator, according to a report in the News-Herald in Ohio.

↵↵Jim Zorn, currently the quarterbacks coach of the Baltimore Ravens, could be the Browns' next offensive coordinator, according to league sources.

Zorn apparently is a candidate because new coach Pat Shurmur wants to run the same West Coast offense Zorn was a part of in Seattle in the early part of the decade. He apparently doesn't care that Zorn wasn't actually the offensive coordinator of that team, but I guess that's logical enough. You also can't really knock the job Zorn did as the Ravens' quarterback coach this year, where he helped Joe Flacco improve his game. Then again, Flacco was pretty horrendous in the Ravens' postseason loss to the Steelers.

No matter what, this fits into my crazy prediction that Zorn will end up being a head coach again. I know it's not logical at all, but some NFL team will eventually be crazy enough to hire him. If it takes just one year for him to become an offensive coordinator again, surely it won't take long for him to take another step forward, will it?
