George Allen Is Running For Senate, Again

↵

There is already one person in Congress (Heath Shuler) with Redskins ties, and soon, there's a chance there could be another once again. George Allen, the son of the late great Redskins coach, is going to be running for Senate, he announced earlier today on his blog.

Allen, of course, was the Virginia senator from 2000 to 2006, and was also a Virginia governor. His re-election campaign in 2006 hit the rails when he used what may have been a racial slur to describe one of his opponents' staff aide. He ended up losing the election to Jim Webb, and now, he wants payback, so to speak.

Here's his video where he announces his candidacy. For what it's worth, his opponents don't seem too worried that he's back in the picture.
