Jason Peters Injury Update: Eagles' Lineman Unlikely To Play Vs. Redskins With Hamstring Injury

Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jason Peters will likely not be available to play in next Sunday's NFC East showdown with the Washington Redskins, coach Andy Reid said Monday, according to the Eagles' official Twitter account. A hamstring injury caused Peters to miss the Eagles' loss to the Bills.

Peters is a Pro Bowl selection in each of the last four seasons. Philadelphia ranks second in the NFL total rushing yards and third in yards per attempt. Meanwhile, the Eagles have only allowed their quarterbacks to be sacked seven times through five games.

At 1-4, and having lost each of their last four games, the Eagles find themselves squarely in the NFC East's cellar, while the 3-1 Redskins stand alone atop the division. Jason Brewer of SB Nation Philly has a full recap of Reid's press conference, in which the coach did "his usual 'blame me' line where he took responsibility for the struggles of the team."
