The Washington Redskins will look to get back on track in Week 7 when they go on the road to face rookie sensation Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers. The game will mark the beginning of the John Beck era, so to speak, as Beck was named the Washington Redskins' starting quarterback over Rex Grossman on Sunday.
Carolina is just 1-5, but they have been far more competitive than they were last year, when they finished with the worst record in football. Much of that has to do with Newton, who has dazzled after being selected with the No. 1 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. He remains fairly turnover-prone, but that is to be expected for a rookie. Thanks to Newton, wide receiver Steve Smith has also experienced a bounce-back season after struggling in 2010.
