Just when it looked like the Washington Redskins had put the game away against the St. Louis Rams, the Rams showed some signs of life. The Rams got a big play on defense when Justin King intercepted Rex Grossman's pass and ran it back to the Redskins' 31-yard line. However, the Rams were forced to settle for a 32-yard Josh Brown field goal to cut Washington's lead to 17-3.
Grossman's pass really wasn't his fault, since it was fumbled by Santana Moss and picked off by King. The Rams later got the ball inside the five-yard line, but a penalty backed them up to the 14. On third down, Sam Bradford threw a strike that was dropped by Lance Kendricks. That forced the 32-yard field goal by Brown.
