Redskins Vs. Panthers Score Update: Cam Newton Touchdown Gives Panthers 16-6 Lead

Just like that, the Carolina Panthers are in the end zone. The Panthers struck on a quick two-play drive to open the third quarter, with Cam Newton running it in from 16 yards out to give the Panthers a 16-6 lead over the Washington Redskins.

The Redskins got the ball to start the third quarter and moved the ball, but John Beck was sacked on fourth and 2 near midfield. The Panthers got it back and struck quickly. First, Newton found Brandon LaFell for a long pass down to the Redskins' 16-yard line. Then, Newton went on a quarterback draw and fooled every Redskins defender for the score.

Beck and the Redskins now get the ball back in desperate need of a touchdown or field goal to cut the Panthers' lead back to one score.
