Redskins Vs. Panthers Score Update: Redskins Trail 23-13 After Third Quarter

What the first half lacked in offense, the third quarter certainly made up for. The Carolina Panthers scored two touchdowns to the Washington Redskins one and lead 23-13 after three quarters.

Both quarterbacks performed well in the third quarter. Redskins signal caller John Beck came out and looked like a different player than the first half. Beck threw for more than 100 yards in the quarter, doubling his output from the first half. Beck connected with tight ends Fred Davis and Logan Paulsen on an impressive touchdown drive. For the second straight week, Beck got the touchdown himself on the ground, running in from three yards out.

The Panthers offense moved the ball in different ways in the third. Cam Newton ran the option with Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams. Newton also continued to find Steve Smith open for big chunks of yardage. Smith has over 80 yards recieving and seems well on his way to a 100-yard day. The Redskins defense appears to have no cornerback capable of covering Smith in single coverage.
