The Washington Redskins head north of the border to Toronto to take on the Buffalo Bills, both teams suffering a rash of injuries. The Redskins have just placed Chris Cooley and Tim Hightower on injured reserve, while the Bills placed Shawne Merriman on IR.
"Well, just the conservation we had with Dr. [James] Andrews, he's the expert in that area and he thought it was in the best interest of Chris to go on IR to give it a little rest, to give time a chance to rehab it [and] not over-push it like he has been doing. And obviously he took the doctor's advice and we agreed with it," head coach Mike Shanahan said about Cooley's injury.
Wide receiver Santana Moss missed practice for the Redskins with his broken hand, which is expected to keep him out of the lineup for three to six weeks. Linebacker London Fletcher missed practice with a hamstring injury while quarterback Rex Grossman was out with an illness. Offensive lineman Trent Williams is still missing time dealing with his high ankle sprain, while cornerback DeAngelo Hall missed with a hip injury
"Any time you break something or you hurt something, you want to come back and give it time to heal. It's a long season. I'm going to deal with it - do what I always do and think positive. Hopefully, something positive comes out of it," Moss said about his hand injury.
