Mike Shanahan just gave his weekly press conference on the Monday following the Washington Redskins' 17-10 win over the St. Louis Rams. In it, the Redskins' coach defended quarterback Rex Grossman, who was criticized by many following an erratic two-interception performance. Via Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan:
"Every quarterback is going to be judged by if he wins or loses, that’s the nature of the job. Everybody can see from a statistical standpoint how a player does, sometimes it can be a little bit deceiving.. For a quarterback you’ve got to be tough. You’ve got to be thick-skinned. At the end of the day you have to win and at the end of the day you’ve got to be very tough on yourself because you’ve got to think perfection."
Shanahan also addressed other topics, including Ryan Torain's performance. For audio of Shanahan's entire press conference, click here.
