Redskins Bring Back Brandyn Thompson To Practice Squad, According To Report

According to a report by ESPN 980, the Washington Redskins plan to bring back rookie cornerback Brandyn Thompson. Thompson was released by the team originally to make room for cornerback Phillip Buchanon, who's coming off serving a four game suspension. ESPN 980 reports that the Redskins and Thompson have an agreement in place for Thompson to return to the team's practice squad and will be made official once room for him is made.

Thompson was a 7th round pick of the Redskins in the 2011 NFL draft. He saw action in two games this season and now that he has cleared waivers, the team plans to add him to their practice squad. Buchanon was on the roster exception list while he served his four game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing supplements. Buchanon is expected to be the team's third corner.
