Already down two scores to the Miami Dolphins, the Washington Redskins received even more bad news. Rookie wide receiver Leonard Hankerson, who has 106 receiving yards in a breakout performance, was forced to leave the game after coming down awkwardly on his leg. The Redskins later announced that he suffered a right rip strain.
Hankerson had just caught a key third-down conversion when his leg buckled strangely on his fall. He slammed his hand on the field when he went down and was on the ground for a while, but he was able to walk off the field under his own power. He did struggle to put weight on his leg, so it remains to be seen if the injury is serious.
Hankerson joins Santana Moss and Niles Paul as Redskins receiver who have gotten hurt this season.
