The Washington Redskins continue to face some bad injury news as they prepare to face the rival Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Linebacker London Fletcher, who has not missed a game in his entire career, missed practice on Wednesday with an ankle injury and was spotted in a walking boot. Coach Mike Shanahan confirmed the news in his Wednesday press conference.
It remains to be seen how serious the injury ends up being. Shanahan said he did not think it was serious, suggesting that Fletcher was just "sore," but he did add that he has been in a walking boot since Monday. Fletcher nearly sat out in the Redskins' loss to Buffalo, but ended up toughening it out after missing practice earlier in the week there. We could very easily see something similar happen this time.
Fletcher currently has played in 291 consecutive games in his NFL career, which is tops among active players.
