Suddenly, the tide of this game between the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys has taken a turn. The Redskins' offense has picked it up, and now Washington has the lead after Rex Grossman found Jabar Gaffney for a 16-yard touchdown with 20 seconds left. The score is now 14-10 Redskins at halftime.
Washington's scoring drive began when Brandon Banks got a big punt return back to the Cowboys' 43-yard line. The Redskins' two-minute drill wasn't pretty -- they called their third and final timeout to avoid a false start, which could have cost them dearly -- but Grossman made it all not matter when he delivered a beautiful pass to Gaffney in the middle of the end zone. It was a great throw, as he dropped it just over the linebacker and into Gaffney's arms.
The lead is the Redskins' first lead in a game since Week 4 vs. St. Louis.
