It was announced before the Dallas game on Sunday that Ryan Torain would once again get the start over the rookie, Roy Helu. But it was Helu who would get more of the carries on Sunday as the Skins struggled to move the ball on the ground against the Cowboys. Helu finished with 35 yards on eight carries and was kept out of the end zone in the overtime loss to Dallas. As a team, the Redskins would gain less than 60 yards on the ground as both Torain and Tashard Choice averaged around a yard per carry.
Just two weeks removed from breaking Art Monk's receptions record, Helu caught only two balls for a total of three yards. Without John Beck checking down to the running back, Helu's receptions have decreased with Rex Grossman back under center. Both on the ground and in the air, it was a quieter day for the Skins rookie.
