Almost every current and former Penn State football player has remained silent as the sickening details involving the Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse investigation and the athletic department's alleged inaction about it have come out. This is both smart and understandable. The entire sports world is struggling to comprehend the allegations. It has to be even more difficult for those who knew Sandusky and played for the program.
One exception, though, has been LaVar Arrington. The former Redskins star and Penn State alum wrote about Sandusky on his Hard Hits blog for the Washington Post.
I don’t know if these accusations are true or not, so I will wait to see what happens in court, but I am shocked and surprised this has even a possibility of being true.
My experiences with Coach Sandusky are memories that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I can honestly say that Coach Sandusky was always fun to be around and genuinely cared about us as people. He always made it a point to help guide us in the direction of being better.
There's more in the post, and Arrington was very clear to point out that he is only speaking from his own experience. He will also be discussing the allegations on his 106.7 The Fan radio program with Chad Dukes at 4 p.m. Here's the listen live link.
