The Philadelphia Eagles suffered a crushing 30-24 loss to the Chicago Bears on Monday Night football that dropped them into a tie for last place in the NFC East and put them far outside the NFC playoff picture. The Eagles drop to 3-5, the same record as the fading Washington Redskins.
Jay Cutler found Earl Bennett on a fade route to give the Bears the lead for good in the fourth quarter, and the Eagles couldn't respond. On fourth and 10, Michael Vick found Jeremy Maclin running over the middle, but the ball was overthrown and Maclin lost balance short of the first-down marker.
With the loss, here are your updated NFC East standings.
- New York Giants: 6-2
- Dallas Cowboys: 4-4
- Philadelphia Eagles: 3-5
- Washington Redskins: 3-5
The Eagles have the tiebreaker advantage by virtue of their 20-13 win in Week 6 over Washington. Nevertheless, this was a crushing loss for their fading playoff hopes.
