Washignton Redskins Sign Former Texan Wide Receiver David Anderson

According to Jason La Canfora of, the Washington Redskins have signed former Houston Texans wide receiver David Anderson to ad depth after rookie Niles Paul has been ruled out for a few weeks with an injury.

The Texans released Anderson on Oct. 12 after bringing him back earlier in the season. Anderson was among the Denver Broncos' final preseason cuts after joining the team in camp.

In six years as a member of the Houston Texans, Anderson compiled 82 receptions for 895 yards and three touchdowns. His best season was in 2009 when he caught 38 passes for 380 yards but no touchdowns.

Anderson won't blow anyone on the Redskins, and it will be interesting to see how much playing he actually gets now that he is a member of the Redskins, or if he was really just brought in as organizational fodder to add depth during practices. But either way, it looks like the Redskins have found the veteran wide receiver they were looking for.
