Patriots Vs. Redskins Score Update: Wes Welker Touchdown Gives Patriots 34-27 Lead

The scoring continues. Wes Welker caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady, and the New England Patriots lead the Washington Redskins, 34-27, with 4:26 to go in the third quarter. Yup, third quarter.

On this drive, the big play was Aaron Hernandez's long catch to bring the ball to the Redskins' 24-yard line. Brady evaded the rush, slid to his left and found Hernandez for a long catch and run. Brady then found Welker on a slant, and Welker easily zipped past the Redskins' defenders for the touchdown.

It's been a long time since either punter was needed in this one. Both offenses are absolutely carving it up right now, and you'd guess that would continue based on how this game has gone.
