Christian Ponder Injury: Minnesota Vikings' QB Leaves Game With Concussion

The Minnesota Vikings' first drive of the second half against the Washington Redskins proved to be very costly. First, running back Adrian Peterson suffered a gruesome knee injury. On the very next play, quarterback Christian Ponder took a shot from London Fletcher and left the game. The Vikings say Ponder suffered a concussion and will not return to action.

Ponder suffered a concussion on a play where the pocket collapsed and he was forced to take a sack. Barry Cofield had Ponder wrapped up, but Fletcher came in at the end of the play to make sure. That play proved to be the one that caused the concussion. Ponder did stay in for one more play, but has been replaced by Joe Webb.
