The Washington Redskins quickly responded to the Minnesota Vikings' scoring drive, marching right down the field and finishing their drive with a one-handed Jabar Gaffney touchdown. The four-yard score gives Washington a 20-17 lead with 5:57 left in the third quarter.
The Redskins' drive began with a long kickoff return from Brandon Banks, and from there, it was all Gaffney. He caught a pivotal first-down pass to get the ball inside the red zone, then caught a second pass to set up first and goal. On the touchdown, he ran a slant pattern and was cut off, but Rex Grossman bought time and lofted a beautiful pass over the Vikings' cornerback's outstretched arm to Gaffney, which he brought in with one hand for the score.
