I can't remember too many athletes around here that were hated more than Albert Haynesworth. Sure, others have drawn the ire of this city, but none of them did it because they bailed on a $100 million contract due to not wanting to play in a 3-4 defense. When you do that, you'll draw a lot of hate, as you should.
↵And yet, there are other athletes nationally who are more hated than Haynesworth. At least that's according to this Forbes slideshow, which puts Haynesworth as the seventh-most disliked figure in sports. Haynesworth was disliked by 46 percent of the people surveyed in the informal poll, the methodology of which is described as follows.
↵↵↵↵↵E-Poll surveyed more than 1,000 adults on their attitudes toward sports figures currently active as players, coaches, owners or commentators. All were ranked on the combined percentages of respondents who answered "Dislike Somewhat," "Dislike," or "Dislike a Lot," to each sports figure.
↵
The six sports figures ahead of Haynesworth? Terrell Owens (this isn't 2007), Manny Ramirez (this isn't 2008), Jerry Jones (fair), Tiger Woods (fair), Michael Vick (I guess) and Al Davis. Maybe Forbes should fix its methodology.
