Washington Redskins May Meet With Shaun Rogers, Free Agent Defensive Tackle, According To Report

One of the Redskins' biggest needs this summer is to find a good nose tackle to place in the middle of their 3-4 defense. Already, they may be making progress towards filling that hole. The team is interested in free agent defensive tackle Shaun Rogers and could meet with him soon, according to a report by FOX Sports' Jay Glazer.

Glazer reports that the meeting could come as soon as next week.

Sources close to Shaun Rogers say the Redskins have reached out and he could possibly visit them this week, even as early as tomorrow.

Rogers, 31, played for the Cleveland Browns last season, his 10th in the NFL. He started just once and picked up two sacks in 15 games as he recovered from an achilles injury suffered in 2009, so he'd likely come in as a backup. The Redskins can sign Rogers regardless of the collective bargaining situation because the Browns released Rogers on Wednesday

Rogers was initially a high draft pick with the Detroit Lions, for whom he received a massive contract.
