NFL Free Agency: Shaun Rogers Visits Redskins Park, Leaves Without Offer

Shaun Rogers, a big defensive tackle who just happens to wear the No. 92, was at Redskins Park today to meet with the Washington Redskins about possible joining the team for the 2011 season. Kelly Johnson of Comcast SportsNet confirmed that the free agent met with the Redskins today, but is reporting that a deal between the two sides is "unlikely."

Rogers is an 11-year veteran but is only 31-years old. He's listed as 350 lbs, and traditionally plays in the 3-4 defensive setup that the Redskins adopted for the first time in 2010. Rogers has been to three Pro Bowls, but only started one game for the Cleveland Browns last season, recording 14 tackles and two sacks.

According to Mike Jones of the Washington Post, Rogers is expected to command a salary in the range of $5 Million this offseason, as one of the top defensive tackles available as a free agent. But Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network is reporting that Rogers seems to be in no rush to sign with any team. And with the NFL collective bargaining agreement expiring next month, teams probably won't be in a big rush to sign him either.
