2011 NFL Mock Draft: Redskins Add Julio Jones And Mike Pouncey

SB Nation has been running a weekly Mock Draft for a little while, but now, we're going 3D with it! Which means that they have expanded the Mock from one rounds to two, doubling the amount of speculative goodness in each update. But the more things change, the more they remain the same, especially at the top of their latest draft. They still have the Redskins taking Alabama wide receiver Julio Jones. Here is their rationale.

It's still not a lock that the Redskins will take a quarterback here; should they take another route, an offensive skill talent upgrade makes a ton of sense.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I think Jones would be a great player here, I'm just not sure the Redskins can afford to spend this high of a draft pick on a position that makes such little impact overall. The definition of a luxury pick that the Skins may not be able to justify making. I'll leave it at that. The second round pick, is something that I'm sure most Redskins fans would be on board with; Florida guard Mike Pouncey.

Washington's offensive line is far from perfect, and Pouncey has the athleticism required to thrive in Mike Shanahan's system.

Pouncey would be a great fit if he is around at this point. Guard is usually a position that doesn't go in the first round, so even though Pouncey has a ton of talent, he may be relegated to the second. But if you take him, you can put him next to Trent Williams an solidify the left side of your line for the next ten years. Wouldn't that be nice?
