If you saw the reports from yesterday that had OJ Atogwe at Redskins Park, and sat around your computer all night waiting for news of a contract to be released, only to be disappointed when nothing came to pass; fear not. There was no way the Redskins and Atogwe could have come to an agreement yesterday because he wasn't actually in Ashburn yesterday. That reported meeting will actually come today, according to Mike Jones of the Washington Post's Redskins Insider.
There were reports that Atogwe was going to be at Redskins Park on Monday. But many Redskins coaches were out of town for the holiday weekend, and Atogwe didn't arrive in the D.C. area until the evening, according to two sources familiar with the situation. The meeting will take place Tuesday, and the Redskins are said to be very interested in the six-year pro, who played three seasons under Washington defensive coordinator Jim Haslett in St. Louis (2006 to 2008).
So there is still a chance that Atogwe can be signed to a deal before he leaves Virginia. Probably not, but still a possibility. Stay tuned for the latest news as it breaks, or not.
