Now that we know the Green Bay Packers are Super Bowl XLV champions, it's time to think about next year ... if there is a next year in the NFL, that is. Assuming there is no extended lockout, we will see the big game return. So who has the best odds to win the 2012 Super Bowl?
↵Contrary to what many overly optimistic fans around here may think, it's not the Washington Redskins. The Redskins are listed as having a 50/1 chance to win the 2012 Super Bowl, according to the latest odds at bodog.com. In other words, Bodog believes the Redskins have as much a chance to win the Super Bowl next season as the Detroit Lions and the Oakland Raiders. As if we needed another reminder how far this franchise has fallen.
↵The Packers open as the favorites to win Super Bowl XLVI at 7/1, followed by the New England Patriots (8/1), Pittsburgh Steelers (10/1), San Diego Chargers (12/1), Baltimore Ravens (14/1), Indianapolis Colts (14/1) and New Orleans Saints (14/1). Right behind them are ... the Dallas Cowboys, who have 16/1 odds to win the Super Bowl next year despite posting the same 6-10 record as the Redskins' next season.
↵The Carolina Panthers and Buffalo Bills have the least chance of winning next year's Super Bowl, as both are at 100/1. At least the Redskins aren't them.
