As we mentioned yesterday, Brian Orakpo will represent the Redskins in the EA Sports Bracket-style Madden cover challegne, to pick the athlete that will adorn the cover of the latest edition of Madden this Fall. But we all know about the Madden curse, and that every athlete who has been on the cover (except for Drew Brees last year) has either suffered a serious injury or a major drop in production.
↵So should Redskins fans want Orakpo to be on the cover? Or even go out of the way to make that a legitimate possibility? Matt Terl of Redskins Blog is conflicted, but has a plan.
↵↵↵My solution is simple: I'm voting for Orakpo in the early rounds -- I mean, really, Hakeem Nicks is a 5 seed to Orakpo's 12? That's indefensible! -- but if he makes it to the finals I will vote against him as often as possible. I can live with someone else being on the Madden cover; I can't live with being partially responsible for Brian Orakpo spontaneously combusting.
