There are a few positions that are very strong in this upcoming NFL Draft. While quarterback is probably the biggest need for the Redskins, the draft might not be the best opportunity for them to address it. Wider receiver is another area of concern for the 'Skins and there are two prospects that could go in the top ten in A.J. Green and Julio Jones. Jones, the big target out of Alabama, continues to be linked to the Redskins in Mock Drafts across the Internet, including SB Nation's Mocking the Draft.
They just released their newest first round mock, and sure enough, they have Jones to the Redskins. Here is their rationale.
The Redskins are very thin at the wide receiver position so the Jones selection seems like logical choice. Jones has great size and speed giving him the ability to be a true playmaker. He knows how to use his body in traffic and make the tough catch.
I think Jones would be a very good fit for the Redskins because he is the large target they have been without the past few years and appears to fit seamlessly into their system. Some might want the team to go with a player that can have a more consistent impact than a wide receiver, but If he is available when the Redskins pick, I don't think you can blame them if they go in that direction.
