Let's get the bad news out of the way first: there will be an NFL lockout this winter. How long remains up in the air, but it's already happening. This is also bad news for the notoriously strict Mike Shanahan, whose view on the importance of OTA sessions became very clear last season.
↵But not all is lost, everyone! The players are apparently putting together a minicamp of their own. At least that's what Chris Cooley said on 106.7 The Fan the other day. Via Dan Steinberg:
↵↵↵↵↵"I talked to London Fletcher.; we're planning a workout date, at a possibility of [Ashburn's] Briar Woods High School," Cooley said. "We'll get teammates, not just me and London Fletcher; we're gonna get pads and hit. We'll probably have 20 or 30 guys work out. It's a mini-mini camp."
↵
No coaches can be present, but it's better than nothing. Hell, via Steinberg, Brian Orakpo has already volunteered to play Jim Haslett and call plays where he rushes the passer all the time. See, everything will work out fine.
