2011 NFL Draft: Redskins Receive Additional Compensatory Seventh-Round Pick

For those bemoaning the Redskins never having enough draft picks, fear not! The Redskins have picked up an additional pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, thanks to the compensatory system. Via Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan, the Redskins will now possess the 252nd overall pick in the draft.

The #Redskins have been awarded a compensatory 7th round pick by the #NFL. The pick will be the 252nd of this year's draft. #Redskins

The pick comes from the trade of Justin Tryon to the Indianapolis Colts last training camp. It's one of 32 picks that were awarded on Friday to 23 teams. Technically, all 32 teams can get one, but teams lose them by making free agent acquisitions. Carolina got three compensatory picks, while Baltimore, Minnesota, the New York Giants, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco and Tennessee got two apiece.

The Redskins now have the 10th, 41st, 141st, 152nd, 174th, 203rd and 252nd picks in the 2011 NFL Draft.
