Albert Haynesworth Simple Assault Court Date Moved To May 26

Albert Haynesworth's court date for a simple assault charge stemming from an alleged road rage incident in Reston a couple months ago has been moved to May 26, according to the Washington Post. Haynesworth was originally due in court Thursday morning.

Haynesworth had been accused of getting out of his car and striking a driver on the Fairfax County Parkway in Reston on February 4. The police report states that Haynesworth, in a pickup truck, was tailgating and making a "non-verbal hand gesture" towards another driver. When the two cars stopped at a red light, Haynesworth got out of the car and struck the man, according to the report.

Haynesworth was suspended for the final four games of the 2010 regular season, and is also dealing with a sexual assault allegation after a woman said he fondled her breasts while she was serving him drinks at the W Hotel in downtown Washington D.C.
