Ladies and Gentlemen, the hair has descended; and he has brought with him his latest 2011 NFL Mock Draft. Mel iper has come out with his latest Mock Draft (insider only unfortunately), and he has a name that is starting to become pretty familiar going to the Redskins. He thinks that the Redskins might target Alabama wide receiver Julio Jones in the first round. Here is his rationale.
The Redskins are certainly back in the market at the quarterback position, but if they don't do something to upgrade the talent at the wide receiver position it won't matter who they have in there. In Jones you have a physical talent who still offers a lot of upside, but already has good hands, great blocking skills and the ability beat people deep or work the middle. He blazed to a 4.39 40 in Indy while carrying 220 pounds. Jones does carry some durability concerns, but has shown the ability play through nicks.
Jones might go higher than 10 now, after his excellent combine performance. But his foot might also scare some teams off. I could see him thriving in Washington. They just might have to take a defensive player who can have more of a consistent impact instead.
