The Washington redskins have the tenth overall pick in the upcoming Draft, and a pretty sizable hole at quarterback. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put those two things together and project them to take a QB with their first round pick. SB Nation just came out with the latest version of their 2011 NFL Mock Draft, and they expect the Redskins to follow that line of thinking. They have the Redskins taking Washington qb Jake Locker; here is their rationale.
Mike Shanahan is confident and bold, and there's more than enough for him to mold in Locker.
I understand that the Redskins have liked Locker since the draft last year, and I wouldn't be surprised if they found some way to get him on Draft day, but I think that the No. 10 overall pick is way too early for him. If they really like Locker, I think they could probably trade down a little bit in the draft, get their man later in the first round, and get an extra middle round pick or two for the trouble. I like Locker, just not this high.
